Bernie Sanders Lays Off Over 200 Campaign Staffers

Recently, I came across a story about Bernie Sanders and the state of his campaign. It was revealed that he would be downsizing his staff. The campaign had downsized from 550 members to between 325 to 350 workers, said Jeff Weaver, the campaign manager. The staff number was once more than one thousand (1,000). The campaign is drawing to an end and there are not very many states going forward. "It will be hundreds of staff members", Sanders told Times. "We have a very large staff which was designed to deal with 50 states in this country; 40 of the states are now behind us. So we have had a great staff, great people." The Sanders campaign multiplied in its size after his fundraising exploded earlier this year, hiring staff members across the country. There just was not a need for the workers. The campaign is also uncertain whether its fundraising success will continue given the trajectory of the race. Senior advisers concluded it was time to downsize back to a smaller scale.

This is an interesting development in an interesting election year. I'm curious to keep a close watch on what the final elections will bring and who will ultimately win the Presidency of the United States.

We will keep you posted.
