Obama --- 8 years later

Barack Obama is nearing the end of his eight year term as President of the United States of America. Some

people think he did a great job and others still question if he has moved America forward at all. Some think it is due to the Republicans blocking every attempt he tried to get various laws and bills passed in the House of Representatives and/or Senate.

Personally, I think he did a pretty good job at getting the country back on track. When he entered the office of the Presidency back in 2008, he was faced with many economic, housing, and other financial crisis. He also was faced with the global war on terror in places like Iraq, Syria, Afganistan as well as conflicts in places like Somalia, Libya and Eygpt. But through it all he was able to inpire and push through the Healthcare bill, the "economic bailout", and he worked very hard to bail out the automobile industry, thus, saving economies in cities like Detroit Michigan and other areas where auto manufacturing is the core of the economy.

As the first African-American president, Barack Obama has exemplefied what it means to lead by example and with purpose and drive. He has done an awesome job while in office. He made various rules and executive orders. He has inspired a new generation with hope and the desire to expect more from themselves. Many people may not agree with my assessment, but overall Barack Obama has done a very good job at keeping the country on track to a hopeful brighter future. We are now in the midst of the 2016 elections and many Americans are very fearful of the future. So much so, that they are considering electing a person like Donald Trump. Personally, I do not think Mr. Trump is a good choice due to his lack of experience and the way he talks to people in a negatively. I do not think I will be voting for him. I fear he may really hurt alot of people if he gets in office

Overall, eight years later, I would give Obama a good grade on his performance. Let's hope the next 8 years will be as productive as the last 8 years. Would love to hear the thoughts of my fellow students, staff and community leaders.
