Apple vs. FBI Encryption Battle- Good or Bad?

The FBI has requested Apple develop software to bypass the security barriers of the Iphone 5c that belonged to the San Bernadino shooter Rizman Farook. The request will expose Apple's encryption technology which uses 256- bit encryption to keep data private.

The FBI has not made any headway in its standoff with Apple and the bitter feud is not changing the minds of it's competitors either. Several technology executives have voiced their support. Apple is forging ahead with their plans for greater privacy, arguing that what consumers want is more control over their devices and no backdoors for governments.

The government has shown no signs of backing down though. Over the last week, FBI Director James Comey, Senator Dianne Feinstein (Democrat- California), former Los Angeles Police Chief Bill Bratton and various victims families have issued emotional pleas for Apple's cooperation, arguing that investigators need access to the IPhone of one of the San Bernadino terrorist's related to its investigation.
