Shocking Story of Racism. Yes it is still alive in 2016.

Below is how a staff at media outlet, The Shade Room, reported the incident.

Lately it seems as if race has been the topic of many heated discussions. Every week we report on cases of discrimination in our country in hopes that we can all come together as one, instead of pitting ourselves against each another. I’m beginning to learn, like my fellow colleagues, that we have a long battle ahead of us. A Chicago woman happened to travel to a different part of ChiTown, and learned very quickly that what she read about in textbooks about the KKK, was about to become a reality a for her.

According to the victim, after a long night of bowling she went to wait for the local bus to arrive not knowing that she was in a racist part of the city. According to her, the bus stop was located in front of a bar, that ended up being a racist haven. According to a witness, several white men repeatedly threatened to “kill and rape her.” What happened next was truly heartbreaking. The men began to chase her down the street, but luckily she was able to find safety in a local Uber driver’s vehicle. This tragic incident needs to be talked about and addressed. Hopefully no one else will have to experience a similar scary situation.
