What They Didn't Show You in the 'Straight Outta Compton' Movie

It is no secret that the film 'Straight Outta Compton' is one of the most successful movies of 2015. One of the former member's and the producer of the group N.W.A., Dr. Dre, said the movie is authentic and accurate. However, after doing much research, it has come to my knowledge that not every element of the movie is entirely accurate. According to my research, there has been a number of cases where women have come forward and claimed that Dr. Dre had an abusive past. This abusive past has not been portrayed in the movie. Michel'le, an R&B singer, was engaged to Dr. Dre and they also have a son together. She admitted that he was abusive during their relationship on a regular basis.

Another point that I discovered in my investigation relates to DJ Yella, another former member of N.W.A. He was the only member that attended the late legendary artist Eazy-E's funeral. The producers also failed to include the feud between Eazy-E and Dr. Dre. This feud lasted for quite some time after Dre left the group. To make matters worse, both Dr. Dre and Eazy-E recorded several "diss" tracks and videos about each other. The two did patch things up before Eazy-E died. But, as the producer, Dre was only willing to provide his perception of what happened. One last, but very important fact, that was not shown in 'Straight Outta Compton' related to a few scenes that expessed how Eazy-E had to downgrade one of his houses because he allegedly had "money problems" and discontinued making music after Dre left. In fact, even after Eazy-E fired Jerry Heller, his longtime/previous manager, in 1994; he was still making millions of dollars as an owner of other rap groups like solo artists' Blood of Abraham (a white Jewish rap group), Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony and many other artists who were making hit records. This prevented him from ever experiencing any money problems. Moreover, when Eazy-E died, he left approximately $30million on the table.

'Straight Outta Compton' was an excellent, dynamic and informative movie which gave us a taste of how life is in Compton, California and how various events transpired during the late 1980's and early to mid 90's.
